Yeah it had to be done :P i just want to know what religion everyone is or what you think the best way to tackle religion is or anything else you can thing of basically.
I (being athiest) don't really know much about religion basides the basic stuff. And i find it very interesting to see what everyone else thinks is "the right path" as such.

Im an atheist, from quite an orthodox christain background (Protestant and Catholic), I think religion is something completely nessecary in the world and even though I don't believe in a god or an afterlife, I don't think theres a problem if you do.
ReplyDeleteI love finding out about the religious beliefs of various people and from my studies if I had to pick a religion it would be Hinduism, though don't tell my mum ;).
I'm an agnostic, and I was bought up as a roman catholic until about 16 when I got confirmed. Then I stopped going to church. I'm agnostic because I believe IF there is a god then it is so unknowable we simply can't worship / understand it. However I'm not athiest because I think theres a possibility that something like god, or spirituality exists.
ReplyDeleteI currently watching a series of Joseph Campbell interviews called "The Power of Myths". He has a lot to say about all religions, considering they're mostly based around Myths. I highly recommend it.

ReplyDeleteBeing Atheist doesnt necessarilly mean you dont believe in God...more like... I don't believe in God UNLESS proven. Or atleast thats what i am if its not atheism.
Thats pretty much atheism, refusing to believe in something even when there is proof would just be sillyness :P.

Heathen, you say? My sister thought I was a heathen even though I'm a christian, since I look like a spooky witch (apparently).
ReplyDeleteAlso, I haven't gone to church this past year since some people there got a little fanatical about their faith and it got me worried. Still believe in god though, but you won't catch me speaking in tongues OR screaming and flailing about because I've "felt" god's spirit. Yeh, that's where the freakiness spawned from... Soul Survivor ftl! :S
